Perfectly situated on one of the Dominican Republic’s most beautiful beaches, the magnificent sugar-sand Juanillo Beach, sits one of the most luxurious resorts we have experienced yet. Located in the exclusive gated community of Cap Cana, just 20-minutes from Punta Cana International Airport, Secrets Cap Cana is the epitome of luxury.
Located on Juanillo beach, one of the best-kept secrets of the Dominican Republic with sugar white sand, palm trees with hammocks, and the clear Caribbean Sea lies 457 suites adorned with sophisticated Caribbean furnishings, striking marble bathrooms, and a furnished balcony or terrace with stunning views of the ocean or lush surroundings. We are usually budget shoppers when it comes to room selection since most of our time is spent in the pool, beach, restaurants, or bars, and we spend very little time actually in the room. However, we decided to upgrade to a non-preferred swim out room and absolutely loved it! Open your sliding glass doors and walk right into the pool. Definitely, something everyone should experience at least once.
The staff at Secrets Cap Cana continually went above and beyond to make sure our stay was one we will never forget. Mr. Obama, part of the entertainment team, always made sure we were having a great time. He's a hoot, so make sure you find him during your stay. Since we were staying over Jamie's birthday, Mr. Obama arranged for a birthday cake to be delivered during our dinner and the staff at Himitsu graciously sang Happy Birthday! The surprise did not end there, Daniel our concierge, also arranged for "Happy Birthday" to be spelled out in rose petals on our bed, and had another birthday cake, a bottle of champagne, and chocolate covered strawberries delivered to our room. The service was second to none!
The resort offers a wide variety of dining options with eight different restaurants. Our favorite was Himitsu, teppanyaki tables are available and you will need to make a reservation. The teppanyaki tables are the only reservations that are ever needed, everything else is walk in. El Patio and Oceana are a few more restaurants we loved. We thoroughly enjoyed every meal and the service was excellent. One evening we opted for a romantic dinner on the beach, it was a little windy that evening but the meal and atmosphere were exceptional.
The beach at Secrets Cap Cana is stunning, crystal clear water, palm trees for days, and some extremely comfortable hammocks. The ocean does not really get deep, we waded out at least a quarter mile and still only about chest deep. Great for those who are not excellent swimmers to be able to venture out a decent amount. The beach service was excellent, our drinks were never empty before getting asked if we would like another, an absolute plus in our book! Non-motorized water sports are included in your stay so don't be afraid to grab a kayak and get out there. If you know how to sail a Hobie Cat they are available as well or feel free to sign up for a lesson a learn a skill. With a wide variety of non-water related activities on the beach, you can stay as busy or relaxed as you wish. Beach volleyball, aerobics, bocce ball, and much more!
Take a dip the expansive Main Infinity Pool or relax your body in one of the two outdoor whirlpools. The main pool area is very lively with many different activities throughout the day. Water aerobics, aquatic cycles, volleyball, balloon toss, and much more! The pool area is huge so if finding a quiet spot to relax is your thing, there's plenty of room for that as well.
A trip to their world-class spa was just what the doctor ordered. Along with our couples massage we received access to hydrotherapy areas with dynamic pool & iced plunge pool, whirlpool, sauna, steam room, and both indoor and outdoor relaxation areas. We highly recommend a morning trip to the spa it's the perfect way to leave you feeling relaxed and refreshed for the rest of the day.
If luxury mixed with a heavy dose of fun is your thing, Secrets Cap Cana is a must a visit. We will most certainly visit again!
